FREE Seminar & Field Day

MAINE - The First Maine Branch of the QDMA Invites you to attend a FREE Seminar & Field Day, "Introduction to Creating Food Plots" on Saturday, August 16th, 2008 at 511 Dunn Road in Belgrade, Maine from 9:00am – 1:00pm.

Enhance your property for wildlife! Hunters, landowners and anyone interested in wildlife habitat improvement or Quality Deer Management practices are invited to attend this FREE seminar. Join a number of other like-minded landowners, hunters, foresters, biologists and nature enthusiasts for this opportunity to learn.

First, you will enjoy an indoor two-part food plot educational seminar on the processes of planning and constructing food plots in field and forested settings, how to use food plots to complement natural habitat, and the many forage options available. This material will be facilitated by Matt Ross, the QDMA's New England Regional Director. Matt is a certified wildlife biologist and NH licensed forester and works exclusively in the quality deer management field.

Then, the outdoor session will include:

  • introduction to planning and constructing food plots in field and forest settings
  • discussion of food plot design and how to use food plots to complement natural habitat and food sources
  • field demonstration of equipment and techniques for creating food plots
  • discussion of food plot forage options
  • tour of a 600-acre property being managed under QDM guidelines
  • handouts on many topics covered in the seminar
